Retreat Time has appeared in every Worms game other than Worms: The Directors Cut. It is a useful feature that lets you move your Worm for a few seconds to a safe place right after firing a weapon. While creating or editing a Game Style, you can toggle the amount of Retreat Time after firing a weapon. It could either be:

  • 0 Seconds (no Retreat Time)
  • 3 Seconds
  • 5 Seconds
  • 10 Seconds

You can move your Worm wherever you want during Retreat Time if it is enabled, but it is advised to move it someplace safe. After you place a stick of Dynamite, always retreat.

Trivia[]

  • Even when Retreat Time is disabled, you are always given a few seconds to run away after placing a stick of Dynamite.
  • If Artillery Mode is enabled, your Worms will not be able to move without movement utilities (such as the Jet Pack and Ninja Rope), so there is no Retreat Time unless you've equipped a movement utility.
  • In the PS2 version of Worms Forts: Under Siege, the Retreat Time set will begin to count down while certain weapons, like the Super Hippo, are active, instead of waiting for the weapon to finish working before counting down. This means that you will have to retreat without camera focus (if Worm control is possible whle the weapon acts).
